RESIDENTIAL INTERIOR DESIGN
The design process is a phased and collaborative approach. First I take time to get to know you, your lifestyle, your needs and goals. This is then translated into a design document that we will use to guide us through your project. We'll keep in contact and I'll update you on progress with regular meetings after each phase.
Once all the designs are complete, I'll work with trusted trades (or your selected trades) to bring the design to life. To take the stress off you, I will be available for site visits throughout the design process to ensure the project is going to plan.
DESIGN PROCESS
PHASE 1
CONSULTATION
The design process starts with a visit to your home and a consultation. The priority here is to obtain a thorough understanding of your aspirations and needs, as well as gaining a feel for the existing space.
Following this, a written brief is sent to you, which outlines the fee structure, design process and a summary of your goals for the space.
PHASE 2
CONCEPT DESIGN
The next step is the initial design phase. We start to develop the overall look and feel of your property by creating initial sketches and mood-boards.
PHASE 3
DETAIL DESIGN
Produced after the concept design has been agreed, this stage includes technical drawings, joinery drawings, lighting plans and finish samples such as paint, fabric, joinery, tiles and flooring. I'll discuss all of these elements in detail with you as the design process evolves.
PHASE 4
SPECIFICATION & PROCUREMENT
Next, it's time to compile complete specifications and costs for all items. This includes creating an itemised procurement list, liaising with tradespeople and arranging delivery of all items.
PHASE 5
EXECUTION & INSTALLATION
During this stage I'll work closely with our chosen contractors to ensure all necessary information and materials are delivered on time. This could include things like lighting for the electrician, paint for the painters and flooring for the carpenters.
PHASE 6
STYLING & CURATION
The last stage involves the creative placement of artwork and accessories. You'll be able to see your space come to life and start to enjoy your home.
